Your franchise will only be successful if the product or service it provides can fulfill a need in your area. Finding out what might be successful in your region might require you to do some research. You might be able to talk to local people to find out what they need that is hard to find.

For example, if you live in an area with a lower income average, you wouldn’t want a high-end furniture store unless there are communities around that have the higher income. The franchise agreement is the key to your business. You need to make sure that you fully understand the requirements, responsibilities and rights that are listed in the franchise agreement. Pay close attention to things like the payment structure and what you have to do to renew it.
You also need to think about other clauses that you find in the agreement. For example, you might be required to renovate the building whenever the franchise deems it necessary. You may have to uphold certain standards or keep specific hours. Before you sign a franchise agreement, you should make sure that you can realistically handle the requirements.
